Dentist tooth on the composition of the classic cut to close Opera House performance

Shriek dentist drill hardly evoke thoughts of Beethoven, Bach, Mozart or Brahms. But when the dentist Wollongong, Paul Halley, knocking off work, he changed his mind to writing classical music.

Halley has had no formal training in composition, which makes it all the more amazing that the music will be performed at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday by the Orava String Quartet, in addition to the work of composer and pianist Felix Mendelssohn.

'' I am completely self-taught, '' Halley, 39, say, between teeth cleaning and matching braces. '' I just started playing piano at the age of 14, although at a very young age I used to play classical entry from my parents ' record collection. ''

To be successful, the composer who most need to be able to play the piano and violin. Halley took piano lessons for only one year.
